From Pop-Up to Brick and Mortar

NEW YORK (January 10, 2024) — Popular NYC-based smash burger pop-up, Gotham Burger Social Club opened its first-ever brick-and-mortar in the Lower East Side. It’s known for serving fresh Oklahoma-style smash burgers, onion rings, fried pickles, beer battered onion rings, tater tots, and chopped cheese tacos.
The grand opening event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, a special appearance by Chef Adam Richman, and free GBSC swag bag for the first 100 customers!
Guests lined up as early as 9am to receive the swag bag, and get their hands on the popular burger. While waiting in line, customers (21 and over) received a shot of whiskey to celebrate the grand opening event.

Food menu items including Gotham Smash Burger, The Beastie Boys (Triple Gotham Smash Burger), Fries, Veg’n-Out Smash (Impossible Beef), and Beer Battered Onion Rings.
A Gotham Smash Burger consists of thinly sliced onions, melted American cheese, ketchup, secret sauce, mustard, and smashed burger on toasted potato buns (Single: $8, Double: $11).
Classic Egg Cream is exclusively available at the Lower East Side location. For only $5, visitors will be able to wash down their meal with a glass of chocolate or vanilla egg cream.
Plus, customers (age 21 and over) can order canned cocktail, draft beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beer to enjoy with their meal.

The restaurant features a counter seat, where customers can watch staff prepare their meal. Additional seating is available throughout the space for customers to sit and indulge in NYC’s best Oklahoma-style smash burgers, classic egg cream and fries.

Former Wall Street senior executive, Mike Puma launched the Gotham Burger Social Club pop-up during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was once a hobby, which involved creating and reviewing burgers. Throughout the pandemic, the pop-up gained widespread popularity. After serving smash burgers to the NYC community for 3 consecutive years, Gotham Burger Social Club found its permanent brick-and-mortar in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood in January 2024.
